Samson had to meet around 50 high standards that cover all as- pects of cancer care throughout the hospital sys- tem.That’s every- thing from having nationally certified nurses and doctors to using the latest techniques for inter- preting biopsies. It’s broad-sweeping, Dr. Goodin says of the accreditation. “And not everybody has it,” he adds. “So we’re pretty proud.” The Commission on Cancer also checked that T.J. Samson offered before-and-after services—not just treatment. For instance, T.J. Samson has a prevention program.
